In order to meet the demand for simple dimming of LED (strips) we introduce the LED Dimmer. This unit will allow dimming, scene selection and sequences of 6 channels of single colour, or 2 RGB (3 channel) loads. With this unit there is no need to use a DMX module and third party DMX drivers, and you can save time by avoiding the hassle of the DMX terminations, mounting locations and so on. Programming the device is just like programming any other HDL lighting controller, offering the installer a familiar interface. The unit is designed to work with 12-30vdc products (constant voltage), and we recommend to use 24vdc products in order to minimise the voltage drop when there is a distance between the dimmer and the strip. We still advise that you keep the distance to the strip below 15m, and to ensure there are parallel runs of cable, one for each 5m length.NB: Do not attempt to use the power from the HDL Bus to power the loads. An external constant voltage DC power supply is required, and should be rated to drive the total number of LED strips plus the recommended headroom. Each channel on the dimmer can drive a maximum of 5A.
